A slight twist to the historical ride of Paul Revere who found fame by yelling at his neighbors on horseback in the middle of the night that the British were coming. He was guided on his journey by lanterns that hung in a steeple. One lantern was to indicate that they were coming by land, and two lanterns were hung if they came by sea.
With the dominance of the US Naval fleet today, let our enemies need not one lantern.
